just to let all of ya know, i've solve the love triangle thingy. before my dance competition. and though i didn't win the competition, i outdid myself. Am so happy, going to perform the routine tonight, again, for New Year's eve part at Xen.

slippas.....

misch, UP close....

sorry girls, these are the photos i promised to post from our JB trip...

Sunday, December 25, 2005

I’m in a horrible mess now. And it involves a love triangle, though I’m not sure whether it really satisfies the definition of one. Yes, a love triangle. You can write a channel 8 drama serial with my story liao.

As we have seen on recent tv serials, that dancing is a powerful way for getting people to fall in love. I have been no means spared from this. The dance partner, whom I have allegedly been flirting around with, has proved too attractive for me, and I’ve fallen for him.

Here I thought the relationship between me and Jeremy could not go wrong after all we’ve been through: the honeymoon years in my first year which involved some clubbing, watching Holland V in the tv room, and night walks to different parts of the west, his overseas exchange to germany, in which we spent lots of money on international calls, and finally a grueling semester which starts from 8 am to 10 pm. We survived that, despite many upsetting moments on my side. Then when I thought things would turn for the better during the holidays, I had to get engaged in a Salsa competition. The training for the competition eventually brought me closer to him. And him, being such a charmer, has made me think many times over my stable relationship with Jeremy. Indeed, I once mentioned that I’m as good as married.

Not that Jeremy was totally oblivious to it, he gave me so much free reign, I was reeling over the fun and excitement of courtship all over again. I’m really not blaming him for it, all these happened because yours truly has a roving eye.

Now it seems, things have reached the breaking point, and I have to make a resolute decision as to who to choose. Here stands a really fragile guy whom I love and have enjoyed being with, for the past 2 years plus; there stands an exciting lad with romance and charm to offer, and of course a fixed partner for all my salsa competitions. (not as if I’m joining lots of them) Which girl doesn’t dream of romance and chivalry, these qualities Jeremy tramples on.

What’s holding me behind? Jeremy’s sensitive feelings, I know he loves me a lot, he regards me as a very important part of his life, maybe even, the reason why he’s studying so hard for: so that we will have a better life, so that I can be a tai tai, and go shopping all day long, and of course, not to forget, the mother of his kids. His family. His mom has already been buying me lots of expensive presents, invited me to all the family gatherings. And of course, I can’t bear to throw everything, that’s been so stable, so secure away. I admit that I’ll be heart broken to break up. I have never treasured someone’s opinion of me so much. God knows how many times I’ve cried over the disagreements we’ve had, I was never such a softie.

However, despite all the logic and rationalization, I know there’s one thing I can’t change in Jeremy. That is, the romance that this new guy has to offer. If its not part of him to be so, nothing can be done to change it, forcing never helps. The future is unclear, maybe I’ll make the choice of being with this new guy, then months, or years later, I realize that who I really want, need and love is Jeremy. There is no way I can go crawling back to him and ask for acceptance. Jeremy is such a brilliant guy and I doubt that his humour can remain unattractive to girls. Then again, I would not be surprised if the government wants to help matchmake him with someone whom he is more compatible with.

Two roads lie ahead, one is to apologise to Jeremy and we both learn from this experience, and probably stop dreaming about being a salsa dancer. There’s really no point trying so dream about it when I’m decades behind my opponents. Time to stop dreaming. The other is to indulge in my fantasies and hope, with every ounce of my flabby self that it’ll work out. Not to mention going through the very, very upsetting and heartbreaking procedure of breaking up with Jeremy, the person who has been so supportive of me all this while. Without him, I’ll be worse off academically, knowledge wise, physically and not to mention socially. He was the one who taught me how to be a better friend and always spurn me on to improve myself. Of course, sometimes I wished he’ll offer flattery, or express verbally that he really thinks I’m pretty etc.

Somebody tell me what to do.

this photo is taken on christmas day itself, as you can see, both me and my bro love to pose for photos...

went to Millenia, just for Candy Empire. luckily we got there just before closing... heh, so i got my fix of COCONUT chocolate.....a box of it!

then there was this COCONUT shortbread.... and was having some offer 1-for-1, so, no need to think liao... just grabbed 2 boxes of it... haha

Jeremy got this nice chocolate coated nougat for his family...

this is the cheesecake i was talking about making... so think it actually materialised..went to 3 shops to look for the philedelphia cheese.... forgot to get gelatin, so drive out again to find it... and bought a whole new bottle of hershey's chocolate syrup for the topping... specially got castor sugar too... and made my sister unwrap many many squares of cadbury chocolate to have that element of surprise!..... it was, of course, finished in 24 hours

some time ago, went to a lunch buffet at some hotel.... liked this decor a lot

went home after my bro moved home. and lo and behold, his tv was placed in my room, so now my sister watches tv lying in her bed... how nice! and they've made my teddy the remote control holder!

Background: mom fell into the drain outside my house while trying to clean the grill fence. got warded, now on celecoxib ie. quite seriously injured.

today i was forced to go home, not that i wasn't planning to, but yesterday i got a call that my vacation job application was approved, and that i could earn some extra bucks, have to go for briefing today, but my bro convinced my mom to "mobilise" me. so here i am at home.
the moment i came back, was told to do grocery shopping. was like planning the menu for the next 3 days liao, tonight sweet n sour chicken cubes, lily bulb soup and baby kailan with pork. then tmr lunch is chicken porridge, and dinner is mixed veg and fried chicken fillet. but apparently, what i planned for tonight is not enough, so, have to revise tmr's menu.

then come back, banged the car into the gate while searching for keys to open the gate. my leg accidentally pressed the accelerator and the car moved up the slope! but after that was good, cept that the car has an imprint on the front. cooked a good dinner but it was finished in 5 mins, all of them ate silently and as if they were starving for days

have to wash the car tmr, it has bird shit on it. ok, lots of shit on it and my brother cannot do that (good for nothing!)my bro is useless
he just sits around and criticise my sister's cooking and say he can cook better
but never do anything.

tmr will be busy driving them around and washing car and making cheese cake, then preparing dinner.. sigh, this is why, during my usp interview 3 years ago that i told the profs that the person i admire most, is my mom.

The Priss
Deliberate Brutal Love Dreamer (DBLDf)

Mature. Responsible. Aristocratic. Excuse me. The Priss.

Prisses are the smartest of all female types. You're highly perceptive, and confident in your judgements. You'd take brutal honesty over superficiality any time--your friends always know where they stand with you. You're completely unfake. Don't tell me that's not a word. You're also excellent at redirecting internal negative energy.

These facts indicate people are often intimidated by you. They also fall for you, hard. You have a distant, composed allure that many find irresistible. If only more of them lived up to your standards.

Your exact opposite:
The Playstation

Random Gentle Sex Master
You were probably the last among your friends to have sex. And the first to pretend that you're pregnant. LOL. Though you're inclined to use sex as weapon, at least it's not as one of mass destruction. You're choosier than most about your partners. A supportive relationship is what you're really after. Whether you know it or not, you need something steady & long-term. And soothing.

Road trip to johor over the weekend: we were at secret recipe. the 3 of them are just staring into space.... waiting for

the cheesecakes! there's raspberry, americano, choc mud cake and chocobanana cake....!

Ha...... Christmas is around the corner again. the cosy familial feeling, families putting up christmas trees, and children helping out with the decor, lovely window shopping.... PRESENTS!....Lovely feeling.
i had a traumatising session of salsa today. at first i wasn't even planning on going. but for the sake of not embarrassing myself, i must practise the dance routine by this week, and my partner has no other free days.

so i went. but there was no time/space to practise. by the time intermediate was over, they had to close the place and the main floor was occupied by tango people.

my traumatising session of salsa was due to the fact that i became teaching assistant. and they were teaching adios jump today. something that consists of you jumping, with the guy lifting you up at the same time, then turning you 180 degrees and landing in a half split.

there was nobody else there who i could sabo into replacing me.

and the wonderful instructor did right turns and left turns on my simultaneously and 4 times each side. and poor me, cannot spin one, was already trying very hard to spot, and not disgrace myself. but yes, in the end i was so dizzy from spinning, i had to hold tight on the hand that was spinning me and be directed to my original spot. the only redeeming fact of the whole fiasco is that my "embarrassing" moments added humour and fun into the class. oh, and the other fact is that i learnt a new move too. within 5 minutes before the class. and had to act pro about it. GOsh, my acting skills were never that great.

i'm not supposed to be awake at this time, i slept at 3 last night, i've only had 3 plus hours of sleep. the reason i'm awake now, is coz i just had a horrifying nightmare. so bad, i woke up, and can't think of anything ELSe. usually for nightmares, you just think of something else and you just forget it. but it was all just too vivid.

i was dreaming about weird people, like in ripley's believe it or not. there was a kid, born with this defect that caused his skinbone as well, to go invisible/translucent as he grew. then one day, this sick neurologist conned him into this hotel room, and said: you know, doctors all over the world have been dying to see how exactly the human brain works. and you! you are the answer to everything, with you, i can see the processes of the human brain, as it is working. the kid just accepts to help in the name of scientific discovery.

the neurologist then takes a hammer and knocks lightly on the kid's head. the kid retorted in pain. then all of a sudden, 2 evil accomplices of the neurologist appeared. one suggested tape-ing the kid's mouth, so that no sound would be heard, the other just forcible held the kid down, and even taught the neurologist to knock the brain harder. so the neurologist took a hard knock, and the kid cringed totally, in GREAT SEVERE pain. and no one could hear him.

at this point i just grabbed the kid, in a blanket, opened the room door. and because if i just let him run away, he'll just be caught again by the evil people, i threw him down the building... to this area right outside the rubbish chute. then i panicked! i just realised i killed someone. so i called my mom, at the same time walking briskly to the lift. somehow my mom appeared with me at the lift.

but just as i was thinking whether i should report it to the police or just run away, coz the kid is invisible, nobody can see the body. someone, one of the 3 bad people in the hotel room came out, pulled/tugged my hand, and told me the rubbish collector arrived. and they found an invisible lump outside the collecting duct(coz somebody actually kicked it). in my dream's mind i was like oh no........... they found the body. and the police will be able to find fingerprints, or investigation will lead to me. then i'll be hung or executed for killing someone. and i'll go to jail. at this point, my thinking was so disturbing that i woke up. it didn't comfort me that i was dreaming. no happy thoughts came to my mind.

Yippee! got my dose of "malaysia" to sustain me for the remaining 5 days, before i can finally go back home, and have decent food. Prata at Fong Seng is the best. although it's not sold at fong seng per se, it's known as fong seng... 24 hour prata shop with good curry and prata and fantastic maggi goreng. though the price is a bit high. but, yes, i ordered my Plaster.... but stupidly (i'd prefer to think i did it out of love, *yah right*) gave the nicest part, of the runny yoke, mixed with curry, to jeremy. it's like eating my favourite half-boiled eggs with prata, and GOOD curry. man, i was so glad the day my mom picked up curry cooking, the salty and coconuty kind. yum yum!

The Story of the Cheeky boy and Crappy girl.

Saturday, November 19, 2005

Am planning for the road trip which me and my pharm pals are going on, after our exams. then i came across this website with reviews about Sofitel Palm Resort.

here's a review from a Singaporean:
"Was there for a short getaway during the weekend. I was rather disappointed as it doesnt look as attractive as seen in their website. Rooms are spacious but not very clean. Their restaurant doesn't have much to offer. I would suggest you catch their free shuttle to go downtown (abt 30 min ride) for a better meal."

here's a review from an English:
"The hotel was an overnight stop as we had an early flight the following morning. It was incredible and I could really see it being a place for honeymooners. The rooms are ample and they are very clean. I have never slept in such an enormous bed. The facilities were great and we enjoyed bowling and swimming and the sauna. It is a very friendly environment and the food is delicious. My husband and I ate a deluxe platter for 2 and shared a bottle of wine for about 15 english pounds. The hotel is a real must and I cannot understand what prompts the other reviews. It was an amazing A class hotel."

My review is: yes, it's very far from the city, and from any good food. but that's solved with a car, right? but, when you go then for a weekend, you just go there, enjoy the sauna....sauna...... and sun tan... .it's really good. =)

only down side is, it's RM$440, one King sized bed and breakfast for 2 adults. Girls, are we still going to stay there?
was eating a self-cooked meal with jeremy in his cluster kitchen when the notorious China clustermate of his, walked in. Notorious because he has been suspect for many "deeds" like leaving the stove on, and being red-hot after cooking, like making "stew" mushroom-dunno-what and the stew boiled over and dirtied the stove area, like using the knife and chopping board to cut his dear dear mushrooms and not cleaning them, like leaving uncleaned utensils with food scraps around so birds can fly in to snack and relieve themselves at the same time... so on and so forth.

today i saw the master at work. mushrooms he placed in a greasy container, God knows what was in that container the previous time he cooked, and who knows what bacteria has already made the container its home. yes, more of the same containers for his luncheon meat, left in the tin can at it was packaged in, and one more greasy one for him to break an egg and scramble in. as if it's not nauseating enough for me, he grabbed the pot cover, from this remote corner of the table, the one which i will not bear to observe how much food scraps are left, and what pretty evidence the crows have bothered to grace us with. yes, then he pour some warm water from the thermos flask into it, and then rinsed it with tap water, and there! he puts it on this nice little pot of stew mushrooms and scraps of luncheon meat that he carefully scrapped from the rest of the chunk.

i left after that, couldn't bear to see more. on other occasions, he fries eggs with soya sauce and dish it onto his trusty pot cover and leave for his room to enjoy.

Friday, November 18, 2005

Aaaaaahhh.... jeremy made me a "nice sandwich" for supper.... he doesn't and didn't know that i was really tired after the exam-dinner entertainment-basic salsa-shine class-social fiasco. but he made a really nice sandwich, which consists of egg... fried to a little crispy, and some nugget pieces.... sprinkled with salt, coz Somebody likes salty food. yes.... it's called nice sandwich. no sarcasm intended. it's really nice... and YuMmY...

one another note, my feet are sore again coz today there were very few girls at xen and Sooo many guys at xen... all fighting to dance... so poor me had to oblige all of them, and queue them up in my mind...it went like A wants to dance, but i wanted to watch yen qing dance. then B asked me to dance... then when i was going to dance with A, C came and ask for a dance.... hectic....

the worst part of the day is not the med chem exam, it's being singled out by Justin and asked to do right double turn and left double turn but cannot do either.... am utterly ashamed. but i shall just dwell on my nice sandwich.. =) and practise more.

I think i've true outdone myself by taking a picture of my room. i've Taken a Pic of the 4 Walls i study, and sleep in...... somehow, by the stroke of 12 of 16th nov, something in my brain clicked, and i knew i had to rearrange my room. now, it's like this.... for the last half a month of nov, the last 15 days of my semester 5. just 15 days

Tuesday, November 15, 2005

no more photos to photoblog with....i mean what can i take a photo of? the 4 walls? my pharmaco notes? my eyebags? Mug Mug Mug, all the way home, literally.

haven't been going home. no good food cooked by my mom, no Sharon to boss over me, No serene to bully... YaAh, no Serene to frighten while i driving her around in the car... well, i don't miss my bro.

everytime exam comes, you start compiling a list of things-to-do after exams. currently, my list includes :

1) have a wild, heck care time at salsa on Friday 25th, at Union.
2) buy a new shoe bag, my shoe bag is torn, by the heel of my dancing shoes.
3) new shoes?? can i ?

a short list, cause i haven't commenced mugging as early as the rest of my classmates have. was finishing my India paper. am very glad that one's over. but the real problem is how to survive this semester. granted i need to maintain an overall B, my india would give me a B, med chem, i hope B+, DFD and patho B, then i have to at least get a B- from pharmaco. How is that possible? i suck at pharmaco....

worse part is, i day-dream, dream, nightmare, all about salsa. now about exams... unlike last sem when every 2 days, i wake up knowing i had a nightmare about sitting for exams. i dun feel the urgency..

Friday, November 11, 2005

Today is the last day of lessons of Semester 5. what better way to end it with a sumptuous meal! lets run thru the menu... there's..

sweet sour chicken... yum yum, it's very nice, especially with drops of soya sauce, DEPENDING on your preference for saltiness.

fried la mian

Fried Beancurd skin

and the Great Xiao Long Bao!!!! nothing like a Crystal Jade Lunch outing to next the Semester....i love my pharmacy gals...

Sunday, while studying for Pharmacology, i sudden had a craving for Cheesecake. no joke. i went all the way to uni hall only to find at Spinnell's was closed! so took a bus to Holland V, had NYDC Goldmine!!!!!! but it didn't do much for my pharmaco test anyway.

The Straaaight (Jacket) Times, Thursday 3rd November 2005

The Old Journal Of Medicine
--- Written by Batman and Robbins

A new research has recently uncovered that continous straining of eye muscles while reading small fonts actually makes you amnesic. In a study of 82 Pharmacy students done over this week, it was reported that nearly 99.97% of pharmacy students who were exposed to reports in small fonts concurrently reported a great memory deficieny in grasping important concepts like Pharmacokinetic properties, Adverse Effects and Which Antibiotics Cause Pseudomembranous Colitis.

Validation of this research confirmed the direct link between the straining of eye muscles and memory loss. Said Professor Tan, "When the eye muscles are being stretched to the maximum, especially when reading, it pulls onto the memory-forming centres of the brain, leading to inability to absorb and retain information." The study was conducted on 82 pharmacy students who were forced to read 12 sets of Dosage Form Design notes in the absurd space of less than one week, at the same time attempt to memorize 13 sets of Pharmacology notes.

"It is ABSURD! How to DO IT?!" screamed a student. The others agreed. Another contributing factor to the strained eye muscles was the prolonged staring at the computer screen the previous week due to excessive watching of webcasts. The transparency magnification kept zooming in and out haphazardly, causing increased strain on the eyes. Some students even reported nystagmus during the Med Chem test while looking left and right too quickly between the Original Drug and Prodrug to determine the changes in the functional groups.

When this matter was brought up, Kat Zong Eyewear Pte Ltd offered the Pharmacy students a 50% storewide discount on eyewear, hard and soft lenses and spectacles. Get a pair of new lenses and get a Free Astigmatism Checkup! Cos you will Need IT MORE after DFD! The catch is that, well, you will have to prepare your own ophthalmic cleaning lens solution. By Aseptic Manufacturing, no less. Yup and you have to do the sterility test also.

did i mention that i always blog more when i'm NOT supposed to? yes...

man, if i could ever ever handle such a situation so well, (i dun know whether i'll manage) but yes, then i'll consider myself good too.
