YEah! Success...Today, I certify myself capable to teach both Bachata and Merengue...the class i tot today got so high after hearing the music and practising the variations, i had problems calmming them down. We did the helicoptor and the second part of "Macucho" ... so we went round and round and went crazy... haha..
later we played merengue all night long!!!
no no no, no one could have survived that...just joking. we did 2 more songs after class ended and that was officially the limit that almost everyone had.. for their muscles. i think everyone agreed that it's a good way to work your Lats/Abs.
at first i tot it was going to be very fast..when i saw that they could do the side to side isolation. but the hardest part to convey was the stepping motion.
"step on your toes first"
"shift your weight"
"bend your knees"
repeat x 10, one minute apart. students could only get the idea after some much stressing....
one student mentioned that my gimmick of making everyone hold their hands up, grab the arm of the people beside, and the whole row of people isolate together, was the best way of illustrating isolation. haha. +1 point to yanqing who gave me the idea.

first of all, i want to express my deepest regret that i'm not updating my blog. (esp to misch and Qiu)
nonetheless, when i have more work to do, i want to blog more, so here i am.
Yesterday night went of PRU's V bash at St james' power station. the place is very huge. as in it houses more than 1 club. i think there's a restaurant there too. and the ceiling is very high....and there's a reason for having one too. or rather, they put the high ceiling to good use. What happened was, they had 3 acrobats in the house, and they did stuns while keeping themselves wound on the 6 metre cloth.
its quite accessible, just a road away from Vivocity. but never attempt to park at st james'. it's $6 for first 5 hours from 5pm-7am. and you get charged every hour before or after that. so, park at Vivo. it's $2 per entry in the evening/night.
the music was good for like 30mins. then after that it was trance...so i left before it was even 11pm.
on the flipside, maybe it was good to leave at that time. coz at that time all the children playing/splashing in the waddling pool at the ceiling of Vivo were gone. and soaking your feet in the cooling waters was really "shiok".
all in all, i spend $5 on housepour (screwdriver, not bad for housepour, usually other clubs/pubs don't offer screwdriver as housepour), $5 to watch the amazing acrobats, and $5 to watch 2 bartop dancers grind a transverstite (who was supposedly a girl, who happened to be participating in the bartop dancing compeition as well). Sounds worth it. haha.
